Shubman Gill, who heaved a huge sigh of relief in the second Test against England where he brought up a superb ton after struggling to impress in all-whites for India, was once again subjected to massive social media trolling for departing for a duck against the visitors in the third Test in Rajkot on Thursday.
Arriving in just the fourth over to bat after opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s early departure, all eyes were set on Gill to build India’s innings with skipper Rohit Sharma who had won the toss and opted to bat first.
Mark Wood, who began the morning with a tight and fiery spell, forced Gill to play around off stump. The ball held its line and caught the outside edge before wicketkeeper Ben Foakes gobbled it up to his right behind the stumps.
