Apple users are well aware of the mixed feelings surrounding the Magic Mouse. Sure, it looks sleek and fits right into the Apple aesthetic. But let’s be real, the ergonomics are downright uncomfortable for many, and the touch-sensitive surface can be more frustrating than futuristic. Plus, the placement of the charging port? Don’t even get us started. Adding fuel to the fire, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, stirred the pot by asserting that the key focus in designing the Magic Mouse was ergonomics. Say what now?
During a post-WWDC interview with tech guru MKBHD, Cook delved into Apple’s latest innovations, including iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence. When the conversation turned to the Magic Mouse, Cook defended its design, stating, “People don’t think of that as much as they would the MacBook Air and the iPad and whatever else you’re going to name. But getting the ergonomics well done was key.”

Ergonomics and the Magic Mouse? That’s a stretch, Tim. Naturally, the internet had a field day. Comments flooded in, questioning the logic. “Ergonomics…..and magic mouse…. in the same sentence?” quipped one observer. Another remarked, “If he believes for one second, there’s any ergonomics with that mouse. It’s actually deeply troubling for the future of Apple”
Critics weren’t shy. “He can’t give an honest answer and just say it’s a mouse and a poorly designed one at that. Just corporate PR stuff about his own product. Huge contrast with Elon. Inauthentic” lamented one commenter. Meanwhile, the fourth continued, “MKBHD’s fact-checking left glance, a momentary long blink, and a firm head nod to confirm the subject was still “The Magic Mouse” is more telling than the wont-call-my-child-ugly response from Tim.”

For those outside the Apple bubble, here’s the scoop: The Magic Mouse has sparked plenty of debate. Its ultra-sleek design might catch the eye, but its flat profile leaves many users wishing for something more ergonomic. They’re craving a mouse that hugs their hand like a well-designed glove.
