Viral Video Shows Man Counting Raindrops, Ends It At 58,000
After the rain had fallen for almost 11 minutes, he carefully collected the water from the sheet and poured it into an earthen pot.

Have you ever heard of someone counting raindrops? It sounds impossible, but one man has done just that, leaving many people both shocked and amused. This bizarre activity has led people to question how much free time he must have on his hands.

In a video shared online, the man reveals his plan to count raindrops. He devised a unique method, knowing it’s not something that can be done easily. First, he arranged a black sheet and placed it over a cot. He then measured the area of the sheet, which was 17.92 square feet. As the rain began to fall, the raindrops collected on the sheet.

To time his experiment, he set a timer for 11 minutes and 19 seconds. After the rain had fallen for that duration, he carefully collected the water from the sheet and poured it into an earthen pot. He then attached a pipe to the pot by making a hole at the bottom, allowing the water to drip out slowly. Another pot was placed underneath to catch the drops as they fell. The man then sat down and counted the raindrops as they fell, using his timer.

At the end of his experiment, he claimed that 58,865 drops of water had fallen into the pot.

The video was posted from the Instagram account Out of Mind, @outofminddexperiment, which has around 2.5 lakh followers. The account is known for posting innovative and unusual videos like this one. The raindrop counting video quickly went viral, garnering 2.36 crore views and being shared by 1.34 lakh users on social media. It also received 6.9 lakh likes and over 5,370 comments.

The comment section was filled with a mix of amusement and scepticism. One user commented, “Unemployment at its peak,” while another sarcastically noted that he must have lost 10,000 drops while transferring the water. Some users questioned the accuracy of the count, pointing out that some drops would have been absorbed by the pots or stuck in the pipe. Another user humorously remarked, “We finally found the guy in math problems who buys the weirdest quantities of stuff.”
