Many parts of the world are currently under the grip of biting cold. This icy-cold temperature is more prevalent at the north and south poles. It is because these poles receive very little direct sunlight throughout the year. A photographer named Jeff Capps has uploaded a clip that gives an interesting account of the situation at the South Pole. The clip starts with Jeff dressed in a jacket and walking at the South Pole. He says, “Here at the South Pole. The temperature is -84 degrees Fahrenheit and -64 degrees Celsius.” Jeff then said that he tried to pour himself a can of root beer. Jeff then shows the beer can and the glass in which he was pouring the drink. The contents of the beer got frozen halfway while he was pouring it into the glass. As seen in the clip, the whole South Pole is covered with snow. This clip has got more than 2 million views.

Social media users were shocked to see this clip and came up with their questions in the comment section. One of the users asked, “How long can you stay outside?” Jeff replied, “The way I’m dressed in the video, not more than a few minutes. If I have my full getup on, I can be outside for about an hour at -70 degrees C before I have to come in and warm up.” Another was confused about whether people are allowed in Antarctica or not. Jeff replied that anyone is allowed as long as they don’t harm the environment. According to Jeff, if people are here for testing purposes, it should be peaceful and not military.
Jeff has also uploaded a captivating sight of the afternoon at the South Pole. Surprisingly, the afternoon at this place closely resembles the scene of midnight. Green galaxy-like structures are also visible in the sky. Jeff informed in the caption, “The sun only sets once a year here, and that was on March 23. Now, the sun is more than 22° below the horizon giving us this gorgeous night sky all day long.”
