They were left astonished after they spotted the creature on a shore; it might have come up from the deep sea they thought. The group of whale watchers reportedly found an American bloodworm. The video left everyone surprised. It was posted on Instagram. According to reports, the members were astonished after spotting the creature. According to the post, the scientific name of this bloodworm is Glycera americana.

Posting the video on Instagram, they have captioned it, “According to NOAA and inverts.wallawalla.edu Bloodworms and other invertebrates are some of the most important food sources for thousands of shore birds that visit the Sanctuary in the fall and winter months. This worm is a rapid burrowing predator and readily everts its long, cylindrical, fanged pharynx both to capture prey and to pull itself through soft sediment. The jaws on the pharynx are venomous with a neurotoxin that includes serotonin and proteolytic enzymes and can cause inflammation in humans.” The post clearly mentions that this creature is venomous for human beings and can be fatal if comes in contact with this creature.

The caption further stated, “Members of Family Glyceridae are called bloodworms because if they are cut they often release large quantities of bright-red blood or coelomic fluid. The red colour of the fluid is due to haemoglobin which is contained within red corpuscles.” The video went viral soon after it was posted garnering over 1.1 lakh views.
