Trigg Ferrano thanked the hospital staff for taking care of him and gave a shout-out to his girlfriend for being there for him and helping him record the video.

A cooking enthusiast took his love for making food-related content to another level with a satirical video on hospital food. He made subtle digs at the expensive hospital costs by referring to the medical insurance as a “membership” that is a must for getting a “reservation”. He then goes on to describe the meals as a “personalised 3-day tasting menu complete with 24/7 private room service”. He dubs the IV tubes as a fully stocked “all-you-can-drink minibar”. At one point, he even walks down the hospital corridor and describes the wall art as “highly curated artwork”.

His first day’s meal was an all-clear liquid meal with items like vegetable broth. On the second day, he got a semi-liquid meal consisting of “deconstructed chocolate from Switzerland, anti-probiotic French Yoghurt and imported Italian sorbetto” which was served with cream of wheat, pureed soup, and chocolate pudding. On the third day, he gets solid food, which is a stack of pancakes.

This video has now raked in over 5.6 lakh likes since it was shared on June 6. In the caption, Trigg Ferrano thanked the hospital staff for taking care of him and gave a shout-out to his girlfriend for being there for him and helping him record the video. He concluded with the advice, “Stay healthy out there because the pancakes aren’t actually worth it.”

This video prompted several other sarcastic takes on the healthcare industry. An Instagram user wrote, “Only 10k (approx. Rs 8,35,196)? Did you have a coupon? My bill was over $50k (approx. Rs 41,75,980 ) for a three-day stay and they kept my gallbladder I guess as collateral.”

Another person described their hospital stay experience as “I visited that same resort in February. I had loud annoying neighbors in the rooms next to me. The accommodations were decent but I think the staff were overworked. One lady said she was doing 12-hour days. I think they were selling my blood on eBay because they’ll sneak into my room and take blood from time to time.”

Someone pointed to the hospital gowns and wrote, “Don’t forget about the fancy dress code.” A hospital staff member remarked, “When you’ve been working 12 hrs straight and didn’t get a chance to eat breakfast or lunch and you’re exhausted and you go into your patient’s room and smell the hospital food.. omg it’s like you’ve never seen better food.”

A self-described nurse condemned the hospital food and wrote, “As a nurse, it’s wild to me that we feed patients such inflammatory and processed foods after surgery or when they are sick and need to heal the most. Make it make sense.”
