Will You Try This Sweet Dhokla Chaat? Don't Complain If The Taste Buds Start Crying
An X user expressed her dislike for a unique Dhokla Chaat dish served at a Delhi restaurant.

Food experiments have been the trendiest thing in the recent past. The internet has time and again stumbled upon the wildest of food combinations from Maggie with coke to chocolate dosa and more. While we were still recovering from dessert masala dosa and momo ice cream rolls, here is another video of a man from Delhi enjoying an unconventional Gujarati dish. This unique dish is prepared by giving Gujarat’s beloved Dhokla, a sweet-savory and juicy dish, a dessert-like makeover. The internet users have found this amusing combination of Dhokla being served at a restaurant in Delhi and shared by a popular food vlogger on Instagram.

Whether this combination is a hit or a miss, is still a question many are pondering upon. Meanwhile, an X (formally Twitter) user, has declared a total disdain for the experimental food item. She has recently uploaded a video of the food vlogger enjoying Dhokla dessert at the eatery and her caption reads, “This hurts my sentiments. Delhi people don’t even know what dhokla is and are now ruining Dhokla like this.”

In the video, we can see a man sitting with a plate of Dhokla dessert served on the table in front of him, amid a number of other items.

The dhokla chaat looks colourful and totally appetizing at first glance. It is garnished with some red, yellow, and greenish drops on top. The Dhokla rests in the centre of a black bowl, filled with milky-creamy-looking sauce.

The man goes on to ask, “Guys, can you guess if this dish is a dessert or a savory?” He then answers saying, “Well no more suspense because this is the very unique Dhokla chaat.” “Fresh, soft, and spongy Dhokla, topped with delicious berry chutney and some wasabi pieces for texture and of course a lot of sweet dahi,” explains the vlogger and goes on to take a bite of the dish.

He seems to enjoy the Dhokla dessert and gives it a thumbs up in the video.

The video on Instagram as well as X user’s reaction to it has garnered a lot of attention online. On Instagram, a viewer opined, “Almost always they use horseradish and nt wasabi since wasabi is excessively perishable.”

However, another viewer does not seem to agree with the vlogger’s reaction and commented, “To be honest, It is tasteless. Only the presentation of the dish is good, rest nothing is good about it.”

What do you think about this food experiment?
