A shocking video showing a Delhi road transformed into a garbage-strewn eyesore has surfaced online. A horrified commuter captured the ghastly scene on her smartphone and questioned about the taxpayer funds that are apparently not being utilised properly. The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), quickly went viral, with locals echoing her disgust and raising concerns about the potential health hazards.
“This is Delhi. This is India’s Capital. What are we paying our taxes for?” reads the caption to the video that the X user shared on the microblogging site.

The 10-second-long video shows garbage spread across the road in Delhi as vehicles pass by. A few animals can also be seen scavenging through the waste.

After the video gained significant traction on social media and many said that the video seems to be from Faridabad, the woman clarified that she captured the video on her smartphone West Delhi. She posted, “For people saying this is Faridabad, this video was taken by me today morning near my parent’s house in West Delhi. But I know for a fact that Faridabad too has many areas like this.”

“This is awful. I think plastics also contribute to this problem as they don’t decompose. We have just too many people in Delhi. Still this is unacceptable,” wrote an individual, adding if anyone can help fix the road condition in Delhi.
Another added, “Agree with Pankhuri ! This is the road opposite Mata Chanan Devi Hospital going towards Uttam Nagar, mostly always overflowing with garbage. This is pathetic and poses a major health hazard!”
“This is near Uttam Nagar. The whole year there is the same situation, uncovered drains and they smell like anything,” expressed a third.
A fourth commented, “Ask Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). It comes under its jurisdiction.”
