Known as the world’s tallest woman, Rumeysa recently left her fellow record-holder, Samantha Ramsdell, in awe when she revealed a surprising detail about her birth in a scene from Guinness World Records’ first feature-length documentary, Rumeysa: Walking Tall.

Samantha Ramsdell, famed for having the widest mouth (female) and the largest mouth gape (female), couldn’t believe her ears when Rumeysa casually mentioned that she was born naturally. The revelation unfolded in a humourous yet captivating scene as the two record-holders bonded over their unique appearances in the garden, with Rumeysa’s mother, Safiye, standing nearby.

Rumeysa, whose record-breaking height is attributed to Weaver syndrome, a rare congenital disorder, shared that she was born on January 1, 1997, weighing 5.9 kg (13 lb) and measuring 59 cm (23.2 in). As Rumeysa described herself as a “big baby,” Sam, intrigued, asked for more details. The revelation left Sam in shock, as she realized that Rumeysa was born through natural birth.

The moment was both lighthearted and surprising, with Sam exclaiming, “You were born a natural birth?” in disbelief. Turning to Rumeysa’s mother for confirmation, Sam humorously asked, “Mom, are you okay?” Rumeysa reassured her while her mother simply smiled and shrugged.

Rumeysa later shared the amusing clip on her Instagram page, injecting some humour into the situation. However, she also acknowledged the reality, adding, “Ermm… an interesting fact about my birth. However, all jokes aside… I should have been born with a c-section.”
