Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan is set to visit India next month for an official trip, during which he is expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top officials.
This visit, slated to take place on September 8, follows PM Modi’s trip to Abu Dhabi in February, where he met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It also comes just months after the UAE President visited India in January for the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.
During that visit, he was the chief guest and witnessed the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding on investment cooperation with PM Modi. The two leaders discussed the India-UAE bilateral relationship, which was formally elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit to India in 2017.
The recent discussions between leaders of India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) highlight the strengthening economic ties between the two nations. Both leaders emphasized their commitment to enhancing economic and commercial cooperation and exploring new collaboration areas.
Since the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) on May 1, 2022, trade relations have flourished, making the UAE India’s third-largest trading partner and India’s second-largest export destination for the fiscal year 2022-23.
According to the External Affairs Ministry, bilateral trade has reached approximately USD 85 billion, and leaders from both countries are optimistic about elevating this figure to USD 100 billion ahead of the target year of 2030.
