There is a calculated all-out attack by foreign forces on Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, top intelligence officials told CNN-News18. The officials mentioned above said that foreign forces are raking up unrelated issues during elections and criticised the habit some foreign news media outlets have of defaming Narendra Modi.
“Foreign forces are trying hard to stop PM Modi from securing his third term,” the officials said.
The aforementioned officials’ reactions come after a UK-based daily citing Pakistani intelligence officials said India ordered the killing of some terrorists on Pakistani soil and has been doing so since 2020.
The officials said that it is important to ‘note the timings’ of the media leaks on Pakistan killings and Khalistani separatist-terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun assassination plot where the US claims India ordered the assassination of the Khalistani leader.
“India is committed to protecting its boundaries and we are doing this in a professional manner. Indian intelligence agencies are not rogue agencies. They work under a strict charter of Indian safety and sovereignty,” the officials said.
“No foreign media ever took up the issue of infiltration in Kashmir and funding by Pakistan ISI so far. No foreign media is talking about the stability of 140 crore Indians in the last ten years. No foreign media is talking about the illegal expansionism policy of China towards India,” the officials pointed out while speaking to CNN-News18. They said that the media leaks are ‘deliberate’ in nature.
The officials said that India has raised the issue of Pakistan-based terror groups with all of its allies.
“India raised the issue of Pakistan based terror groups to all working partners including the UK and the US but they never checked with Pakistan. We have given 33 locations in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. (There has been) no action,” the aforementioned officials said.
“No one talked to Pakistan,” they further added.
The officials said that India’s strong foreign policy shift in recent years has also angered these ‘foreign’ forces. They said decisions taken in the last three years with respect to international developments have been taken keeping Indian interests in mind.
“We have managed cheap fuel from Russia and saved huge foreign exchange. We have gone all out for Israel which is troubling another part of the globe. There is a huge push for the Make in India initiative and capacity building. This is also troubling these foreign manufacturers who are flourishing only in Indian markets,” the officials said.
