US Strikes Target Three Yemeni Cities, Including Capital Sanaa, Reports Houthi-Run Media
Al Masirah reported multiple US strikes on Sanaa and Hodeida, along with additional strikes on Dhamar, located south of the capital

The United States-led strike on Friday targeted three rebel-controlled cities in Yemen, including the capital Sanaa and the port city of Hodeida, as per Houthi-run Al Masirah television network.

Al Masirah reported four strikes on Sanaa and seven on Hodeida, with at least one strike hitting Dhamar, south of the capital.

However, there was no immediate comment from the US to these claims, and Al Masirah did not provide details on any damage or casualties.

Washington has repeatedly targeted Houthi positions in Yemen since January in response to the rebels’ attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Since last November, the Houthis have been attacking ships off Yemen’s coast in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, asserting that these actions are in solidarity with Palestinians during the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.

This fresh strike also comes a day after Yemen’s Iran-backed rebels had claimed that they have carried out a drone attack on Tel Aviv, although there has been no direct confirmation from Israeli authorities.

In a statement, the Houthis asserted they had “carried out a military operation targeting a vital target in the Jaffa (Tel Aviv) area in occupied Palestine with a number of Jaffa drones.” They claimed the operation successfully reached its targets without interception by Israeli forces.

The Israeli military reported intercepting “a suspicious aerial target” over central Israel overnight, but did not provide further details.

The Houthis, who have controlled large areas of war-torn Yemen for a decade, are part of Iran’s “Axis of Resistance” against Israel and the United States.

The latest strikes also comes as thousands gathered in the capital, Sanaa, to show solidarity with Palestinians and Lebanese amid ongoing attacks by Israel.

“The aggression on the capital and Yemeni governorates after the…solidarity marches with Lebanon and Gaza is a desperate attempt to terrorise our people,” Houthi official Hashem Sharaf al-Din had stated.

“Yemen will not be deterred by these attacks and will continue its steadfastness in confronting the enemies with all its strength.”
