WWE RAW Results: CM Punk Targets Royal Rumble; Carter-Chance Retain Women's Tag Team Title
Drew McIntyre engaged in a war of words with CM Punk as McIntyre declared for the Royal Rumble as Punk made it clear that no one is going to stop him from winning the Royal Rumble Match.

A number of exciting battles unfolded in the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, which aired on January 8. The show kicked off with a segment of CM Punk, who engaged in a brief exchange with Drew McIntyre inside the ring. Speaking about his comeback, Punk admitted that he wanted to secure the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania this time.

The opening fight saw Tommaso Ciampa join hands with Johnny Gargano to challenge the pair of Finn Balor and Damian Priest. Following that, Ludwig Kaiser took on Kofi Kingston, the Miz went head-to-head against JD McDonagh and Damian Priest, while Otis, assisted by the Alpha Academy, faced off against Ivar and Valhalla.

The episode also featured a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match where Kayden Carter and Kitana Chance defended their title against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. There was a street fight as well between two RAW superstars – Cody Rhodes and Shinsuke Nakamura. Let’s take a look at the detailed results of January 8’s episode of Monday Night RAW:

Ciampa & Gargano vs Balor & Priest:

Ciampa and Balor started off the match, with the former dominating the fight. After exchanging some strikes, Balor attempted a double stomp, which Ciampa managed to dodge. Priest then took over the charge and smashed Gargano on the announce desk. Balor attacked Ciampa from behind and tried a suplex. Ciampa took no time to trap Balor and won the battle by a three count.

Kaiser vs Kingston:

Kaiser took early control of the match, launching a series of strikes. Kingston attempted a dive but Kaiser managed to block it with his elbow. He then sent Kingston into the barricade. Though the match had no result, the referee and the officials had to intervene to calm down the situation.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship:

The defending champions pulled off a great start, with Green receiving brutal treatment. Niven attempted a sneak attack, which was countered by Carter. Chance was then thrown into the corner by Green, while Niven used a low crossbody. Following some enthralling actions, Carter and Chance came together with the Kickstand to secure the victory.

The Miz vs McDonagh & Priest:

After losing the first match, Priest was once again there to assist McDonagh against the Miz. R-truth also appeared at the ringside and tried to distract McDonagh. It helped the Miz launch his iconic Skull Crushing Finale to pick up the win.

Ivar vs Otis:

Ivar started off the fight with a kick to Otis’ midsection. Otis did counter with a back elbow but ended up receiving a powerbomb. The pair exchanged a few more strikes before Ivar came up with a spinning back-heel kick and a moonsault off the top rope, knocking out his opponent.

Street Fight– Rhodes vs Nakamura:

This was no doubt the most anticipated segment of the episode. Both superstars spent the initial phase outside the ring before Nakamura assaulted Rhodes with a broom and a kendo stick. Rhodes also came up with a kendo stick but could not proceed. He then tried to set up the table but had to digest a few nunchuck shots. Despite putting up a neck-and-neck battle, Nakamura ultimately surrendered when Rhodes attempted a Cody Cutter and followed it with Crossroads.
