With weeks remaining for WWE’s upcoming premium live event Bad Blood, the weekly SmackDown episode provided the latest build for the October pay-per-view, SmackDown also featured four official matches which included a title defence. The show kicked off with LA Knight laying his title on the line against Andrade. The fans were also treated to a video promo, featuring Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. The main event saw all three members of The Bloodline take on a team of Kevin Owens and DIY.
LA Knight retained the US Title to kick-off the show
LA Knight has been a fighting champion, ever since winning the United States title against Logan Paul. Squaring off against Andrade, Knight got early control by putting his challenger into a headlock. After exchanging some blows, Knight got Andrade up on his shoulder to land a power slam. He then hit an elbow drop off the top rope before setting up for the BFT. Andrade countered the move into a roll-up but the champ kicked out. Knight dodged a flying Andrade before connecting with the BFT for the victory.
Focus on Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes
The segment began with a video of Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns meeting each other at the Georgia Tech football stadium. The ‘Original’ Tribal Chief told Rhodes how he had nothing to lose as The Bloodline had already taken everything from him. This prompted the Undisputed Champion to ask Reigns his word that he had his back at WWE Bad Blood. Roman gave his word before reminding the Rhodes that after Bad Blood, he would be coming back to take his title.
Kevin Owens addressed fans
Kevin Owens began the promo by talking about how he was aware of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes were teaming up at Bad Blood to square off against The Bloodline. Soon, Tama Tonga walked out alongside Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu. DIY ran down to even the odds as all six men began brawling with one another. Eventually, Nick Aldis asked officials to break the fight before announcing a six-man tag-team match for the main event.

LA Knight (c) vs Andrade el Idolo for the WWE United States Championship – Knight retained his title using the BFT on Andrade.
Apollo Crews vs Giovanni Vinci – Crews beat Vinci with a Flash pin.
Bayley and Naomi vs Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton in a Tornado Tag Team match – Bayley and Naomi hit Nia Jax with a double pin for a victory.
Kevin Owens and Street Profits vs The Bloodline – The match ended in a no-contest.
