Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the facelifted Ertiga in India on October 10, 2015. The Ertiga was launched over three years ago and has begun to show its age so it was about time that the market leader updated the people mover.
The new Ertiga was showcased at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in August this year and the Indian model is expected to look the same. The changes to the exterior include a tri-slat chrome grille, chrome accents over the fog lamps, new front bumper and air dam. The side profile is the same, save for the new alloy wheel design.
A large chrome strip, with the Ertiga branding embossed on it, runs across the rear end and merges into the red appliques that look like an extension of the same taillights. The rear bumper is also slightly redesigned too.
On the inside, the dashboard design will be unchanged, however, Maruti is expected to throw in additional kit such as Bluetooth telephony controls on the steering wheel, electrically folding mirrors, engine start-stop button and its Smartplay touchscreen, sat-nav system like the unit in the Ciaz and the S-Cross. The rear seat will be 50:50 split foldable for added utility.
