A Reddit user recently recounted a harrowing incident involving their friend, who fell victim to a dreadful ordeal at the hands of an auto rickshaw driver in Bengaluru. In a widely circulated post on the ‘Bangalore’ subreddit, a user identified as @TheHound5 shared the unfortunate tale of their friend’s decision to board a seemingly random auto rickshaw from Silk Board to Ulsoor. Little did they know, this choice would turn out to be their biggest mistake leaving fellow Redditors in a state of profound shock.
The dreadful event took place when they were passing through Domlur on the Ring Road around 10 p.m. At this point, they reached a dimly lit and isolated area on military land, where the auto driver abruptly halted, claiming he needed to take a brief pee break. “And so my friend thought he too will take one,” revealed the Reddit user.
However, what happened next was beyond their imagination. The auto rickshaw driver forcefully pushed their friend, causing them to tumble further down from the footpath. Before their friend could fully grasp the situation, the driver began assaulting them and proceeded to rob them of all their valuables.

“And then he (the driver) threatened to hit him with a stone. In a state of shock and pain he begged him to please take whatever he wish to and somehow gathered the courage to scuffle and run as fast as he could in complete darkness,” they added. To make matters worse, heavy rain began to pour down as their friend desperately begged for assistance from anyone passing by. “Finally after which one great and noble soul stopped and helped him in all possible way to make sure he reached his home.” the user continued. Subsequently, the friend contacted them, instigating several hours of anxiety for everyone involved. It was an utterly distressing situation, as the user concluded on Reddit.

Soon, the Reddit community reacted with shock and urged the user to report the incident to the police. One user expressed their horror, stating, “This is a horrible incident…these rikshawalas will burn in hell.” Another user offered a precautionary measure, advising, “Whenever u sit in an auto make sure to take a picture of the number plate first,Especially girls and send it to someone you trust or parents.Well I think everyone should do this now since these autowallas and crime is getting out of hands.”
