A report from Beijing apparently says that China fears it's small exporting firms may be cheated by Indians.

New Delhi: The Chinese government has warned its small exporters saying they should be cautious while dealing with Indian firms, as there was a large possibility that Indians may dupe them.

However, the Indian Commerce Ministry, seeking to downplay this insinuation, said that they had had no official communication from China about this.

"We do not have any official communication either from the Chinese government or our mission in Beijing. Unless we get full details we cannot comment on media reports," a Ministry spokesperson was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.

A report from Beijing apparently says that China fears it's small exporting firms may be cheated by Indians.

PTI says an official at the Chinese embassy in New Delhi has admitted the report is true and has said that there was a reason why this report was circulated.

He said that "the issue was much more complicated than reported from Beijing" and that there was more behind such a warning being issued than he was willing to reveal at the moment.

The Commerce Ministry on Monday said it will wait for details from the Indian mission in Beijing.
