Mumbai: Kotak Mahindra Bank Executive Director Uday Kotak advised investors on Thursday to put appropriate margins with the brokers.
He told investors not to expect unrealistic returns from the stock market.
"Investors should put appropriate margins with the brokers or else the pains are enormous," said the director.
He added that the investors should take a long-term view of the market.
"In two years, we have received 300 point returns and this year its 10 per cent return," he said.
Kotak maintained that it is important to take a holistic view of the market as it may go up or down.
He also said that fund raising in the primary market should be based on the movements of the secondary markets.
