3rd T20I, IND vs AFG: Rohit Sharma Says 'Don't Remember When Was The Last Time' as India Win After Two Super Overs
Rohit Sharma starred with the bat with his fifth hudred in T20Is as India needed two Super Overs to beat Afghanistan.

India beat Afghanistan after two thrilling super overs in the third T20I against Afghanistan at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Chasing 212, Afghanistan too ended with the same score.

India equalled Afghanistan’s score of 16 in the first super over to stretch the match, but the visitors could not chase down a target of 12 in the second super over as Rohit Sharma’s side picked the required two wickets through Ravi Bishnoi.

Rohit Sharma, who was also adjudged the player of the match, was a happy captain after the match.

“I don’t remember when was the last time this happened. I think I batted 3 times in one of the IPL games,” Rohit said jokingly at the post-match presentation.

Opening up on his 190-wu stand with Rinku Singh, Rohit said: “Creating the partnership was important and we (Rinku and I) kept talking to each other to not lose that intent in big games and it was a good game for us to be in, the pressure was there and was important to bat long and deep and not compromise on the intent we want to show.”

“The last couple of series that he played, he showed what he can do with the bat. Very calm and knows his strength pretty well. He is coming off age and doing what is expected of him and he has done really well for India. Augurs well for the team moving forward, wanted someone like that at the backend and we know what he has done in the IPL and he has carried that to the Indian colours as well,” Rohit said in praise of Rinku.

Earlier, riding on skipper Rohit’s unbeaten 69-ball 121 and Rinku’s 69 off 39 deliveries, India staged a remarkable recovery to post 212 for four after slipping to 22 for four in the fifth over.

In reply, Afghanistan also ended at 212 with Gulbadin Naib hammering a 23-ball 55 to lead his team’s stunning comeback.

Fareed Ahmad Malik was the most successful bowler for Afghanistan, ending with excellent figures of 3/20, even as his colleagues were taken to the task by Rohit and Rinku.

With this thrilling victory, India won the series 3-0.
