The Indian cricket team is currently stranded in Barbados after Hurricane Beryl hit the Caribbean island on Monday morning. The team’s planned itinerary included a flight to New York, followed by a connecting flight to Dubai, and finally a return to India. It was originally scheduled to depart from Barbados on Monday at 11 am. However, they had to delay their departure due to the impending Beryl, a Category 3 hurricane which has now intensified into an extremely dangerous Category 4.
Along with the Indian team, the journalists from the country who went to cover the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean are also stuck in Barbados. As the hurricane hits the island, the Indian media persons have been sharing the visuals of the current scenario on social media.
Veteran sports journalist Vimal Kumar posted a video on microblogging site X on Monday in which a heavy downpour along with strong winds could be seen in Barbados. He also stated that the chances of the team’s departure are very thin due to extremely bad weather.
