India’s Winning Streak At T20 World Cup
Rohit Sharma-led Team India will be looking forward to keeping up their unbeaten winning streak as they gear up to face neighbours Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup match on Saturday, June 22. The Super 8 game will be played at 8 PM (IST) at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.
Having dominated Group A, India remained in form in the Super 8, registering an impressive win over Afghanistan in the last match. While the top batting order, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, were knocked out in the early overs, a quickfire 60-run partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, landed India to a safe total. Defending India’s 181, the bowlers ensured to keep the Afghan batters in check.
Pacers Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah picked three wickets each to take India home to a 47-run victory against Afghanistan.
Speaking in the post-match conference, captain Rohit Sharma said, “The last two years we have played T20s here, so we understand the conditions and planned accordingly. We adapted well and got 180, which was a great effort from the batters. We had class bowlers who defended it perfectly.”
