Pakistan’s Shan Masood showcased his terrific leadership prowess by making some astute changes in field placements to pick up the wicket of Steve Smith. Masood deployed three fielders around the cover region and left-arm pacer Mir Hamza bowled a fuller delivery outside off stump to tempt Smith for a drive. The Australia batter came down the track and attempted to play a lofted shot over the covers. But Smith could not get the ball past Babar Azam who jumped to complete a crucial catch.

The video has attracted the attention of several cricket fans. Most of them seem to be in disbelief as the Aussie star rarely falls into traps such as these. One of them wrote, “Hard to believe Smith would fall into a trap like that. Bit concerned about how he’s been getting out lately.”

Pakistan and Australia are currently on Day 3 of the third Test. The Pakistani side won the toss at the Sydney Cricket Ground and decided to bat first. A couple of brilliant knocks from Mohammad Rizwan and Aamer Jamal helped the visitors put up a total of 313 runs. Pat Cummins had the best bowling performance for Australia in that innings as he scalped five wickets. At the tea break of Day 3, the Aussies trailed by 24 runs. Their side have managed a total of 289 runs while losing six wickets. It will be interesting to see if Pakistan can finally march towards a victory and make history in Australia.
The first Test of the series saw Australia bag a 360-run win over the visitors. David Warner was the star of the show in that game, smashing 164 runs in 211 balls. The next Test match was a much closer affair with the host side winning a second consecutive by 79 runs.
