WATCH: Ramandeep Singh Takes a One-handed Stunner to Give India A the Breakthrough

Ramandeep Singh is loving his time in Indian colours as he represents the country for the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Asia Cup 2024 where he took an absolute stunner against Pakistan A at Al Amerat, Oman on Saturday.

Pakistan A was looking to pick up the pace in their chase of 184 runs with opening batter Yasir Khan looking to go after the spinner. But Nishant Sindhu can thank Ramandeep for his stellar efforts at the mid-wicket boundary ropes. The batter had struck a length delivery on the backfoot with enough power that it looked to be a flat six, but Ramandeep dove to his right to claim the catch, leaving his rival side stunned.

The 27-year-old is no slouch on the field. In fact, in the recently concluded season of the Indian Premier League, representing the Kolkata Knight Riders, he had taken a stellar catch against Lucknow Super Giants as well which was a contender for the catch of the tournament.

India-A got off to a blistering start in the first innings with Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh teeing off to give the side 68 runs in the first six overs. However, the introduction of spin meant that the opener’s onslaught was brought to an end with both men being dismissed soon after.

The skipper, Tilak Varma looked to hold his ground as he finished with a knock of 44 runs in 35 balls to help through the middle stages of the innings. Some quick runs from Ramandeep along with the tail-enders resulted in the side getting a decent score on the board.

But Pakistan-A looked to be a solid side and have looked to try out several plans with regard to the batting order to get the job done. It will be up to the Indian bowlers to ensure that they can defend the score to get their first points of the tournament on the board.
