The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has sent a show cause notice to Class 10 and 12 Delhi students who submitted fake certificates to appear in CBSE board exams 2024. As reported by Careers360, the board has retained the CBSE board results 2024 of forty-nine (49) Class 10 and fifty-three (53) Class 12 female and CWSN private category candidates in the result later category (RL).
The board asked such students to send their responses to the regional office along with all supporting documents by May 21. It warned students that their candidature will be cancelled and action will be taken against them if they do not submit the reply.
An official notice by the board read, “With this notice, these candidates are directed to show cause why their candidature should not be cancelled and action be initiated against them as per the rules for submitting fake certificates. All candidates are directed to submit their reply to the concerned regional office with all supporting documents within 7 days from the date of the notice, i.e., by May 21, 2024, failing which their candidature will be cancelled. The Board shall not be liable for any loss/damage caused to such candidates.”
In addition to that, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) explained that in order to be qualified for board exams, it is mandatory for the applicants to submit the domicile certificate showing that they are a resident of Delhi while submitting the exam form.
The board stated that the domicile certificates submitted by these candidates were examined to ensure that they were accurate. However, the certificate-issuing agencies informed the board that they had not issued the certificates submitted by class 10 and 12 students.
“Hence, the results of these candidates were not declared on May 13, 2024, and have been placed under the Result Later (RL) category as per Rule 60 of the CBSE examination by-laws,” CBSE added.
In another notification, CBSE informed that the 10th and 12th results 2024 of 139 Delhi candidates have been placed in the sub judice category and are subject to the outcome of the court decisions.
Meanwhile, the CBSE 10th results 2024 were announced on May 13, recording a pass percentage of 93.60 per cent. Girls surpassed boys by 2.04 per cent, achieving a pass rate of 94.75 per cent. Over 47,000 students have secured marks beyond 95 per cent, while more than 2 lakh have achieved scores exceeding 90 per cent.
