The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will end the registration process for the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) without a late fee today, September 26. Candidates who wish to apply for the GATE 2025 exam without paying a fine for late application may visit the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. After September 26, candidates will be able to apply for the GATE 2025 only after paying the late fee till October 7, 2024.
GATE 2025: Important Dates
The deadline for the extended online enrolment or application process for GATE 2025 with a late fee is October 7. Candidates can change category, paper, examination city, add a new test paper or update personal details for GATE 2025 by November 6, with an additional cost per modification.
GATE 2025 Application Fee
Without Late Fee: Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) will need to pay an application fee of Rs 900 during the registration process. All other aspirants, including overseas Nationals, have to pay Rs 1,800.
Late Fee: SC/ST/PwD applicants submitting the form after the due date will be required to pay Rs 1,400 and other candidates Rs 2,300.

Step 1: Head to the official website of GATE 2025 at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, look for the Apply Online link and click on it.
Step 3: Next up, register yourself on the portal by providing the required details.
Step 4: After logging in, fill in the GATE 2025 Application form and submit all the necessary documents.
Step 5: Pay the application fee and click on proceed.
Step 6: Save and take a hard copy of the application for future reference.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination that examines applicants for a comprehensive understanding of several undergraduate-level subjects in engineering, technology, architecture and science.
GATE 2025: Exam Pattern
As per the official schedule, the GATE 2025 exam is scheduled to be conducted on February 1, 2, 15 and 16 next year. The exam will be held in two shifts. The first shift is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, while the second shift is from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. IIT Roorkee will release the GATE 2025 Admit cards on January 2, 2025, and the results for the same are expected to be out on March 19, 2025.
GATE 2025 will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. The duration of the exam will be 3 hours exam. According to the official notification, candidates will be given to choose from 30 subjects and the candidate can apply for a maximum of two test papers. The two test paper combinations must be chosen from the list available on the official website.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level exam used to evaluate applicants for admission to master’s and doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, science, architecture, and humanities as well as for employment with certain public sector organisations. The exam will be administered on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India by IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs, including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee.
