Last year, Adah Sharma was spotted outside late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sea-facing building Mont Blanc in Mumbai’s Bandra. It gave rise to a whole lot of chatter on social media if she would move into his apartment following which Adah had revealed that she was left ‘overwhelmed’ with all the attention on her. And recently, the Bastar: The Naxal Story and The Kerala Stories actor confirmed that she has indeed shifted to Mont Blanc.
Adah has been known to keep details of her personal life hidden from the public eye. And now, in an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, she addresses the scrutiny and spotlight on her personal residential address. Quiz her if she looks at it as an invasion of privacy and she says, “I think by now the audience, the media and the film industry know that I’m a very private person. I share bits of my life on social media which I will continue to do but the parts I don’t feel comfortable sharing, I’m fiercely protective about them.”
The 32-year-old, who moved to this new neighbourhood of Joggers’ Park with her mother and grandmother after spending all these years in Pali Hill, further adds, “Our media is sensitive and intelligent and I am sure they will definitely respect that. My home is home to a lot of birds and squirrels, whom I allow to invade my privacy.”
Mont Blanc has been making headlines ever since June 2020 when Sushant was found dead in the duplex. It had been lying vacant for nearly four years. A while back, Rafique Merchant, a Mumbai-based real-estate broker, had revealed that tenants are ‘scared’ to visit and move into that flat and that no deal was getting finalised. But Adah had no such apprehension and she decided to buy the property as it exuded a ‘positive vibe’.
Talking about how she decided to mute the noise around her when it comes to owing the property that previously belonged to Sushant, she tells us, “I take all decisions whether it’s doing a film or moving into a house with my heart, so I never doubt any decisions I take. Yes, I’ve shifted to a new place physically but my permanent place will always be the hearts of millions of people.”
In fact, her family members were also not wary about the move. “My family – just like me – has very intuitive beings, who live life with a lot of faith and joy in their hearts,” says Adah, whose latest video featuring herself chanting a prayer song in the prayer room of her new home grabbed attention.
