Arsenal are on the verge of signing Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar who plays for the Queens Park Rangers in the English Premier League even as the Gunners ready themselves to part ways with Vito Mannone who is Sunderland-bound, the Daily Mail has reported.

The report claims that Cesar will complete the move after the Confederations Cup where Brazil are to play world champions Spain in the final on Sunday. The Brazilian will take Mannone's place at the Emirates. The report also suggested that Arsene Wenger is in a hurry to rope in Cesar with AS Roma also showing interest in the 33-year-old.

Cesar has been phenomenal for QPR and for his national side in the ongoing Confederations Cup at home, though Arsenal have been linked to the Brazilian well before the tournament started. According to the newspaper, Cesar is in favour of moving to Arsenal instead of Roma after he settled in London since joining QPR.

Arsenal, according to the paper, will have to shell out £2 million for Cesar, with wages of £70,000 a week.
