Inter Kashi are set to begin their campaign at the Kalinga Super Cup with a challenging fixture against Indian Super League (ISL) side FC Goa. The Group D clash is slated to take place at Pitch 1 of the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar on January 12.
Inter Kashi were the last I-League side to secure their place in the Kalinga Super Cup. They stormed into the cup competition after thumping Rajasthan FC in the qualifying round. It turned out to be a one-sided affair where Inter Kashi netted as many as five goals without any reply. The victory has definitely boosted their confidence ahead of the campaign opener.
Inter Kashi have yet to show consistency in the ongoing season of the I-League though. They are currently reeling at the bottom half of the league table with 15 points in 11 games.
Meanwhile, FC Goa have been one of the top-performing teams in the ISL this season. They are now holding the second spot in the standings, only two points shy of table-topper Kerala Blasters. However, FC Goa have played two matches less than Kerala. So it won’t be surprising to see Goa climb up in the order once the season resumes.
