Three key battles that may determine Champions League winners
Can the Old Lady cause an upset and beat the Catalans, who eye a historic treble?

It is that time of the year again when football fans go into a frenzy. It's the UEFA Champions League final on a Super Saturday night.

Barcelona are a clear favourites against a rejuvenated Juventus team that has defied expectations by reaching the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. So can the Old Lady cause an upset and beat the Catalans? These three battles may decide that:

1. Neymar-Suarez-Messi

The most fearsome attack in world football. That is what the Barcelona front-three represents. They have been quite fantastic this season. A total of 120 goals by the 'Trident' has brought Barcelona on the threshold of a magical treble. Juventus will have to defend like champions. Giorgio Chiellini has been ruled out due to a calf injury and that has also put to rest an exciting sub-plot involving him and Luis Suarez.

However, his likely replacement Andrea Barzagli is no rookie. Alongside Leonardo Bonucci, the 34-year-old represents a calm, composed defensive pairing which is tactically sound and has a great reading of the game.

2. The midfield maestros

It is Iniesta vs Pirlo. Rakitic vs Pogba. Busquets vs Vidal. Barcelona and Juventus arguably have the best midfields in world football. In Iniesta and Pirlo the two sides boast of the best pass masters one can think of. In Rakitic and Pogba are two tireless workers who can spring up uncannily in the opposition's box while also running back to defend outside their own. Busquets is quite possibly the best holding midfielder in the world right now with an impeccable reading of the game and the ability to knit a pass to perfection. Vidal, on the other hand, brings bite to a Juventus side that doesn't shy away from a fight.

3. The tactics board

The off-field match-up between Luis Enrique and Massimiliano Allegri will be the key to this game. Allegri is an astute tactician who will know that an open, end-to-end chances-laden game favours the Spaniards. He would be keen to make it a physical, closed, stifling game. Defend narrow. Remain compact. Don't let Messi get on the ball.

Of course, it is easier said than done. Playing on a counter attack could be the way out for Juventus, especially with the in-form Morata and Carlos Tevez proving lethal in attack so far. The game will be as much of a tactical battle as one of incredible football talent.
