Loose Lacing Jordan 4s

Push each end of the lace down through the bottom eyelets. Take one end of the lace and push it down through the first eyelet on the left, threading the lace from the outside of the shoe to the inside. Then, take the other end of the lace and thread it down through the first eyelet on the right. Pull the laces taut and adjust them until they’re the same length on both sides. Take a moment to straighten the laces if they get twisted.

Thread the left lace down through the eyelet above and diagonal to it. Take the left lace and push it downward through the second eyelet on the right side of the shoe. Thread the lace from the outside of the shoe to the inside.

Place your finger under the lace as you pull it to keep it loose. As you pull the left lace through the eyelet above and diagonal to it, hold your index finger next to the eyelet and underneath the lace. This adds slack to your laces, keeping them loose when you thread the laces.

Push the right lace down through the eyelet above and diagonal to it. Repeat the same steps for the right side of the lace. Push the right lace downwards through the second eyelet on the left, threading the lace from the outside of the shoe to the inside.

Continue this pattern up the shoe until you reach the top 2 eyelets. Alternate threading the left lace and then the right lace down through the eyelet above and diagonal to it. As you pull each lace through the eyelet, hold your finger underneath it to keep the lace loose. Just stop lacing when you reach the last 2 eyelets at the top of the shoe.

Pull the left and right lace up through the second eyelet from the top. Take the left lace and push it up through the eyelet above and diagonal to it, threading the lace from the inside of the shoe to the outside. Then, thread the right lace upwards through the eyelet above and diagonal to it. This is the final lacing step, meaning that the very top eyelet is unlaced. This gives your shoes a loose and comfortable fit. For a looser fit, stop lacing when you reach the top 3 eyelets. Then, pull the left and right lace up through the third eyelet from the top, leaving the top 2 eyelets unlaced. For a tighter fit, push the laces down through the second eyelet from the top. Then, pull the laces up through the last eyelet at the top.

Let the laces dangle and adjust the looseness as needed. When you finish lacing your Jordan 4s, about 1 to 3 inches (2.5-7.6 cm) of lace is left dangling from the shoe. Put on your shoe and gently pull up on the laces and on the sides of the shoe to loosen the laces to your liking. If your shoe feels too loose, simply pull on the ends of the laces to tighten them.

Continue the pattern up the shoe until you reach the last eyelet. Alternate threading the left lace and the right lace down through the next available eyelet on the opposite side. Then, pull the left and right lace up through the eyelet directly under it. Just keep lacing until you get to the last eyelet at the top and leave it unlaced. Keep the pattern consistent by threading the right lace under the left lace you just made. It might take some effort to thread the laces back through the eyelets you already pulled them through.

Tuck the remaining laces inside the shoe. When you get to the last eyelet, slide the leftover laces behind the tongue and inside your shoe. To secure the laces, tie them in a knot or bow behind the tongue.

Star Lacing Jordan 4s

Thread each end of the lace down through the fifth eyelet. Grab one end of your lace and push it down through the fifth eyelet from the bottom on the left, threading the lace from outside the shoe to inside. Then, take the other lace and thread it down through the fifth eyelet on the right. Center the laces so they’re the same length on both sides. Straighten the laces if they get twisted.

Pull the right lace up through the first eyelet on the right. Take the right lace and position it underneath the first eyelet on the right. Then, pull the lace up through the eyelet, threading it from the inside of the shoe to the outside.

Thread the left lace up through the first eyelet on the left. Grab the left lace and hold it under the first eyelet on the left. Then, thread it up through the eyelet, pulling it from the inside of the shoe to the outside.

Push the right lace down through the fifth eyelet on the left. Cross the right lace diagonally over the shoe and position it above the fifth eyelet from the bottom on the left. Push the lace through the eyelet, threading it from the outside of the shoe to the inside. It may take some effort to get the lace through the eyelet because you already threaded the lace through it.

Thread the left lace down through the fifth eyelet on the right. Grab the left lace and cross it diagonally over to the fifth eyelet from the bottom on the right. Thread the lace down through the eyelet, pushing it from the outside of the shoe to the inside.

Pull the right lace up through the eighth eyelet on the right. Take the right lace and place it under the eighth eyelet from the bottom on the right. Then, pull the lace up through the eyelet.

Thread the right lace down through the eighth eyelet on the left. Position the right lace over the eyelet parallel to it, which is the eighth eyelet from the bottom on the left. Then, push the lace down through the eyelet. Tuck the remaining shoelace inside the shoe—you won’t use it for any more lacing.

Pull the left lace up through the first eyelet on the left. Grab the left lace and hold it underneath the first eyelet on the left side of the shoe. Thread the lace up through the eyelet, pulling it from the inside of the shoe to the outside.

Thread the left lace under the diagonal lace and over the horizontal bar. Slip the left string under the first diagonal lace on the shoe. Then, pull it to the horizontal bar at the top of the shoe, which is at the eighth eyelet. Simply loop the lace over the bar.

Push the lace under the diagonal lace and through the right first eyelet. Bring the lace diagonally down the right side of the shoe and thread it under the diagonal lace. Then, push the lace down through the first eyelet on the right.

Tuck the remaining laces inside your shoe. Slide the leftover lace under the eyelets and hide it behind the tongue of your shoe. To hold the laces in place, tie them in a bow or knot and tuck them behind the tongue.
