This wikiHow teaches you how to prevent iPhone Switch Control (an alternative input feature that can be enabled in your Settings) from reading selected menu and icon labels aloud.

Open your iPhone's Settings. It's a gray gear icon on one of your home screens. Look in the Utilities folder if you don't see it.

Tap General. It's in the third section.

Tap Accessibility. It's in the third section.

Scroll down and tap Switch Control. It's the first option under the “Interactions” header.

Tap Speech.

Slide the “Speech” switch to the off position. Now when Switch Control scans your screen, it won't read its current selections out loud.
