Restart your iPhone.
Turn your iPhone off fully and turn it on again. Before trying any troubleshooting steps, give your iPhone a soft restart. This could fix minor software issues.
Enable Siri.
Make sure Siri is turned on. If Siri is enabled, tap the switch to toggle it off and then turn it on again. To find the settings, do the following: Go to Settings. Tap Siri & Search. Toggle on Listen for "Siri" or "Hey Siri". Toggle on Allow Siri When Locked.
Train Siri's voice recognition.
Set up "Hey Siri" with your voice. Completing these prompts can help Siri recognize your voice better. Open Settings. Tap Siri & Search. Toggle off Listen for "Siri" or "Hey Siri". Toggle it on again. Tap Set Up. Repeat each command. Tap Done.
Turn on Spoken Responses.
Change how Siri responds to you. Siri may just be giving you silent responses, which can make it seem like Siri isn't working. To check the response option, do the following: Open Settings. Tap Siri & Search. Tap Siri Responses. Tap Prefer Spoken Responses.
Check your Wi-Fi connection.
Make sure your Wi-Fi network is online. While Siri can operate without Wi-Fi or cellular for certain tasks, questions that require real-time information like traffic or weather require a stable connection. If your internet connection isn't working, you can restart your router to fix your connection. If you're not currently connected to Wi-Fi, make sure you have cellular service.
Update your iPhone.
Keep your iPhone updated. If Siri isn't responding to you, you may be due for a software update. Do the following: Go to Settings. Tap General. Tap Software Update. Tap Download and Install.
Check your language settings.
Make sure your language is set correctly. If it is, sometimes switching to a different language before switching back can fix it. Do the following: Open Settings. Tap General. Tap Siri & Search. Tap Language. Tap a new language. Tap your language.
Turn off VPNs.
Disable any active VPN apps. A VPN may interfere with Siri's features. Turn it off, and then try using Siri again.
Use headphones.
Enable Siri with headphones plugged in. If you're using the wired Apple earbuds, you can press and hold the center button to activate Siri. Then, say a command. If Siri reacts to your voice without issue, you may have an issue with your iPhone's microphone. You can try to clean it with a dry, soft-bristled brush or a toothpick.
Contact Apple Support.
