How to Open IPT Files
Files that have the IPT extension are created by a 3-D rendering or computer-aided design (CAD) programs such as Autodesk Inventor. These files are normally part of a bigger project and commonly combined with files that have other extensions like IAM. To open an IPT file, you need to have a program that supports these kinds of documents.
Steps

Download a CAD application. Autodesk’s Fusion 360 is one of the widely used CAD programs you can download to open IPT files. Open a web browser on your computer, type in “www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview/” on the address bar at the top (without the quotation marks), and hit Enter on your keyboard. You will be directed to the Autodesk Fusion 360 website. Click on the “Download” button to start downloading the program installer to your computer. CAD applications are used to create 3-D rendered designs commonly used for architectural purposes. Autodesk is one of the leading software-developing companies that create CAD applications for architectural developments.

Install Fusion 360. Double-click on the installer file found either at the bottom of your browser or in your Downloads folder. This will run the installation wizard.

Open Fusion 360. Once you have finished installing the program, double-click its shortcut icon on the desktop to open it. At first launch, Fusion 360 will require you to log in using your Autodesk ID. Simply enter the log-in details and click on “Sign In” to proceed. If you don’t have an Autodesk ID yet, click the link “Need an Autodesk ID” to open the Create Account window. On this window, enter your personal details such as your full name, the password you want for the account, and the e-mail address you’re going to use with your ID. Click on the “Create Account” button afterwards to get your Autodesk ID.

Open IPT files. Navigate through your folders to where an IPT file is located. Once you’ve found an IPT file, you’ll notice that the IPT file icon has been changed to something related to Fusion 360. Double-click on the file, and it should open on the Autodesk Fusion 360 window.
