Saving Public Videos
Open the Telegram desktop app on your computer. The Telegram icon looks like a white paper plane on a blue background. You can find it in your Applications folder on a Mac, or your Start menu on Windows. You can download and install the desktop app from Telegram's apps page.
Click a chat in the left panel. Find the chat with the video you want to save in your chats list, and click it. This will open the conversation on the right-hand side.
Right-click the video you want to save. Find the video file in the chat conversation, and right-click to see your options. It will open a drop-down menu.
Click Save File As... on the menu. This option allows you to download and save the video file on your computer. Clicking it will open a new pop-up window and let you select a destination folder to save your video.
Select a folder on your computer. This is where you will find your saved video after your download.
Click Save in the pop-up. This will download the video file and save it to the selected folder on your computer.
Downloading from Private Channels
Download Tampermonkey on your browser. This is a browser extension available for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Opera, and Mozilla Firefox. Visit the link and click Get from Store to download it to your browser. This method will only work with the web-based version of Telegram at https://web.telegram.org/k/
Install the Telegram media downloader script. This script returns the download button to channels and chats with restricted content saving. Visit the link and click Install this script at the top.
Go to https://web.telegram.org/k/ in your web browser. If you aren't already logged in, scan the QR code or click Log in by phone number to do so now. You may also use: https://web.telegram.org/a/
Click a private channel in the left panel. This will open the conversation on the right-hand side.
Click the photo or video you want to save. This will open it in full view.
Click the download button. This looks like a down arrow on top of a horizontal line. You can find this in the top-right corner. If prompted, choose a save location. Most browsers will automatically save to your desktop or Downloads folder. The photo or video will be saved to your device.
