Actress Roja Selvamani has dominantly marked her presence in both the South film industry and politics. She is currently serving as the Minister for Youth Advancement, Tourism & Culture in Andhra Pradesh. Her daughter, Anshumalika Selvamani, has emerged as a star on social media, even before her debut in films. Anshumalika, however, was recently trolled and criticised for one of her videos on Instagram. In this clip, Anshumalika said that she used to love celebrating her birthdays till she was 15. She added that she does not feel the same now, as she is growing older and suffers from anxiety on birthdays. Social media users mocked her, not because of the subject she was talking about, but because of her English accent. Some of the other users criticised Anshumalika for not speaking in Telugu. The other felt that she was trying to copy Lakshmi Manchu’s accent or using a fake accent to sound cool. Anshumalika didn’t react to the criticism.
Her fans praised her and said that they completely agreed with Anshumalika’s views. Anshumalika wrote in the caption, “Is it just me or does anyone else get anxious about the randomest things they can’t control".
Not only her views, but Anshumalika has created an indomitable presence on social media with her sartorial choices as well. Some time back, she shared pictures on Instagram, where she was seen wearing a red gown. She accessorised her look with hoop earrings.
Fans loved Anshumalika’s looks and wrote that she looked lovely in this attire. Others flooded the comment section with heart emoticons.
Anshumalika also has a significant presence on YouTube with her channel named Anshu Malika Roja Selvamani. She curates content on lifestyle, writing, coding, and other interesting projects on this channel. As of now, she is not very active on this channel, and last uploaded a video named Let’s Talk About Mental Health on November 22, 2021. Social media users have applauded her choice of topics for the channel and her impeccable Telugu-speaking skills. They requested her to come up with more such videos on the channel.
