BANGALORE: Triple riding proved costly to the life of a youth after his bike rammed into a tipper and caught fire. The youth was burnt alive and the two pillion riders sustained serious injuries. The incident took place near Thirumagondanahalli Cross on Hosur Road in Hebbagodi police station limits on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Chalapathi (22), a resident of Marasuru Madiwala, while the injured are Moula and Naveen, both residents of Doddakannahalli. Moula's condition is said to be very critical while Naveen has sustained multiple fractures on his limbs.According to the police, Chalapathi was riding the bike and the other two were riding pillion on the service road off Hosur Road. Near Thirumagondanahalli cross, Chalapathi lost control over the bike and hit a tipper from behind and the bike was dragged for some distance. As the bike's petrol tank was rubbing against the road and there was petrol leakage, the spark resulted in fire. Eventually, Chalapathi was burnt alive, the police said.
