HYDERABAD: Two Arab Sheikhs were detained for allegedly conspiring to enter into contract marriage with innocent girls from the Old City on Monday night. One of them had been arrested earlier by Santoshnagar police in a similar case, police said. According to police, Hilal Sayeed and Mohd Abdul had come to the city nearly 15 days back for marrying a girl from the city. They contacted a broker from Chandrayangutta, Abdul Aziz and asked him to show a girl.Aziz, in turn contacted an auto driver from Dhobi Ghat area, Mahmood Miyan for arranging a girl for marriage. Police said Mahmood Miyan’s auto owner had got his daughter married to an Arab national some time back through Aziz and Mahmood thought he too could get her daughter married with Aziz’s help.On Monday night, the two Arabs and Aziz came to Mahmood Miyan’s house where an altercation took place during talks.Soon locals gathered in huge numbers who caught the trio and informed police.Madannapet police inspector KN Suryaprakash said the trio had been detained for questioning. As the marriage did not take place, no case has been registered, police said. Police said Hilal had been arrested earlier by Santoshnagar police for trying to enter into a contract marriage with a girl from the Old City.
