KOCHI: The Thrikkakara Residents Association Apex Council (TRAAC) is on a 24-hour hunger strike before the Collectorate, demanding the disposal of waste dumped in Thrikkakara Municipality using scientific methods. Hashim Parakkad, Residents Association State President inaugurated the function. “We have been asking it for quite a long time. But the authorities have not taken any steps. Waste has been carelessly dumped which is creating a lot of trouble to the commuters. This problem should be addressed at the earliest by the authorities, said K M Abbas, vice president, TRAAC. T K Muhammad, president, TRAAC, M S Anil Kumar, general secretary, TRAAC, K M Thomas, treasurer, TRAAC and Salim Kunnampuram, secretary, took part in the hunger strike.
