TIRUPATI: Three persons died and four others were injured in a ghastly road mishap which occurred near Mamundur of Ranigunta mandal on Monday.According to Renigunta urban CI Ramana Kumar, two trucks coming in the opposite directions collided head on. One of the trucks bearing Tamil Nadu registration proceeding towards Chennai from Erraguntla of Kadapa district with a load of cement hit another truck coming from Puttur and going towards Kodur in the opposite direction with a load of fertilisers.The intensity of the accident was that the cabins of both the trucks were completely damaged. While two persons including Venkataramaiah (60) and Guru Babu (30) died on the spot, another person Yerram Reddy (55) succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at SVR Ruia hospital.All the injured were admitted at the hospital. The cement loaded truck driver is alleged to have been napping when the incident occurred.
