HYDERABAD: Four children who had left their house more than three years back, were traced on Wednesday and handed over to their mother by police. The eldest girl, however, is yet to be traced. The five children, three girls and two boys had left their house after their mother and father were convicted in a murder case. Four of them are children of the couple while another girl is the daughter of their close relative. According to Musheerabad police sub-inspector N Ram Laxman Raju, the children are residents of Medar Basti. Their parents, Sharada and Rajpal Singh are charged with murder of a relative over property issues and they were convicted by a court. "After the couple went behind bars in 2005, the children stayed with their grandmother till 2008 in the same house. The eldest girl, Meena, who was 14 at that time convinced other children to come along with her and live on their own as she suspected her parents will never come back,' Raju said. All the five children left for Guntur where a woman noticed them wandering in streets and got them admitted at Sri Sri Ravishankar Seva Mandir. Sharada got released from prison in 2008 and after searching for her children at her relatives houses and other possible places, she lodged a complaint with Musheerabad police in May 2008. After a search, police had lost hopes of securing the children to their parents. On December 17, the second eldest, Meenakshi came to the city and reached her house giving hopes of tracing the other children. "With the information provided by her, the other three children were also traced down to the ashram and handed over to Sharada,' Raju said. The children are Meenakshi (17), Sravan (11), nine-year Baadal (all siblings) and their relatives daughter Durga Bhavani (12).
