BANGALORE: A contest for Indian technology developers, Pingar Champions League, was announced in the city by Pingar, a New Zealand based company recently to build innovative applications to solve unstructured data challenges in big data.Speaking about the event, Peter Wren-Hilton, CEO of Pingar, said, “Unstructured data is an immense business challenge and it is growing within enterprises at an average of 40 per cent per year. This rapid pace of growth presents a tremendous opportunity for individuals and businesses to provide a solution. The contest is a way for the Indian software development community to work together and showcase the results to a worldwide audience.”The contest applications will focus on six key categories: forensics, investigation and compliance; sentiment analysis using social media; banking or financial services; web or mobile enterprise; health or life sciences and a consumer-oriented cricket data challenge.“It’s great to see a New Zealand company working together with Indian developers on solutions that solve real-world business challenges. New Zealand has many highly innovative companies that make great partners for larger Indian companies in scaling the technology for Indian and world markets,” Gavin Young, New Zealand Consul general and trade commissioner The company will further publish a showcase gallery of the best and most innovative applications generated by the contest. The gallery will include applications that extract more relevant data from unstructured data sources to analyse for better results, improve data discovery and reduce time-to-information for enterprises.“The showcase gallery represents a way that Indian software developers can highlight their work on the global stage. Unstructured data provides real challenges for enterprises. The gallery will demonstrate some of the most innovative solutions that can help solve that challenge,” concluded Wren-Hilton.
