CHENNAI: Learning to aspire and achieve as a team and as individuals is key to being an entrepreneur. This was the lesson that students from classes nine to twelve took away from their first day at the TiE Young Entrepreneurs Skill Development workshop.Initiated by TiE Chennai, the workshop aims to offer a structured curriculum to educate and groom high school students as entrepreneurs and future leaders. Being conducted for the first time in Chennai, the program includes mentor based programs, inspirational talks and hands-on class room instruction.Workshops, conducted by established industry stalwarts are meant to foster innovation, leadership skills, creativity and self-confidence.The first day workshop gave the children an introduction to entrepreneurship and the idea generation process.Arun Athiappan, founder of bus ticketing website www.ticketgoose.com,was the guest speaker. Promoted by Efficsys InfoTech India Pvt Ltd, which was started in 1996, TicketGoose handled over 250 bus operators, he said.Citing customer satisfaction as the aim of every entrepreneur, Arun says, “TicketGoose has a highly qualified technical team and a great marketing support division dedicated towards client satisfaction. The third day will involve strategies on growing the company, value proposition, revenue and cost in business.The fourth and fifth day sessions will involve customer segment, relationships and channel, key partners, activities and resources and bringing it all together.Rakesh Raghunathan of Petawrap, Sridevi Raghavan, co-founder and CEO of Amelio Child Care and Ankit Chhajer, Co-founder of 3G Simplified will address the students. On the last day, student groups will present the ideas they work on during the week to reputed entrepreneurs. The award winning team will receive a cash prize of `5000 sponsored by myBskool.com.
