The police on Tuesday claimed to have solved the alleged abduction case of a minor 'gang-rape' victim in Meerut, saying the plot was allegedly hatched by her own father to teach a lesson to his neighbours.
The victim was rescued by police after she was found wandering alone late last night from the Bhavanpur police station police area, they said. The abduction was just a ploy by her father Bittu Sagar, and the girl's age was 14 and not 10, as stated by him in his earlier complaints regarding her alleged gangrape in March, SP (Rural) M S Beg claimed.
After questioning the girl, it has come out that the girl was not even gangraped but she had 'willingly' established relationship with a friend of her's, he further claimed. Sagar had filed a complaint against one Arvind, son of his neighbour, and two other unidentified persons on March 18, for having allegedly abducted and gangraping the minor after drugging her in a hostel in Ganganagar, following which Arvind was arrested on March 20 and sent to jail.
Sagar apparently had some old enmity against Arvind's father owing to which he allegedly took these steps, police said. Sagar in an another complaint later had said that her 10-year-old daughter was abducted on Sunday while she was playing outside her home in Ganganagar.
After Sunday's incident, the girl's family then raising suspicion again against Arvind, registered a complaint against Arvind's mother Sunita and two others. But, the police, now based on the girl's version says, it was all a plot hatched by her father and one of his acquaintances just to teach some lessons to Arvind's family.
The police have obtained some photographs of the girl and CCTV footage from a mall, where the girl was apparently found wandering with her father's acquaintance, who was an uncle figure for the girl, for investigation. Sagar and his acquaintance will be interrogated and arrested if the accusations are proved correct, police said.
