THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader L K Advani said that the Travancore Royal Family had shown great responsibility and honesty in looking after the huge wealth of Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple intact for centuries.Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the senior BJP leader said that the tradition should be maintained with regard to the treasure found in the chambers of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple.When asked about the demand, particularly from the Left parties, that the wealth should be utilised for the public welfare, Advani said: “Tradition of the state and the temple should be maintained.It is significant that the royal family had preserved the treasures at a time when the country was concerned about the growing corruption. The royal family has shown great responsibility and uprightness in preserving the treasure.
