CHENNAI: A City Civil Court in Chennai has appointed an advocate-commissioner to look after the affairs of Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) in Esplanade. The advocate-commissioner C Shankar should take charge of the assignment and probe into the accounts for 2009-10 and 2010-11 and audit the same and file his report by November 21, XVI Civil Court has said. The court was passing interim orders on an application from P Sathyanathan of Ayanavaram and M Aravinda Kumar of Anna Nagar East levelling charges against the office-bearers of the YMCA.The documents clearly showed that various malpractices had been committed by the office-bearers. Hence, it was just and necessary to appoint an AC to audit the accounts of the YMCA. Prima facie case had been made out and the balance of convenience was also in favour of the petitioners/plaintiffs, the court said.
