Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Government would like to take advantage of satellite technology available with ISRO for the benefit of common people, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Monday.
Naidu met ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan and a team of scientists from the space agency who called on him here. The Chief Minister said space technology and IT should be utilised in areas like agriculture, availability of surface and groundwater, forests, among others, to benefit the common man, according to an official release issued after the meeting.
Naidu felt that ISRO scientists and the Science and Technology and Planning departments should interact to evolve ways to help the people, it said. Recalling that satellite-enabled technology helped teach students in Andhra Pradesh in 2002 when Naidu was Chief Minister, the release quoted Radhakrishnan as saying that ISRO would help the State with its expertise.
