Angry villagers lay sodomy victim's body on road, demand action against accused

Tension gripped Kakroli village in Muzaffarnagar district after an alleged sodomy victim succumbed to his injuries.

A 28-year-old labourer was sodomised by two youths on March 6 when he went to a farm. He was also beaten up when he opposed them, police said.

The victim was rushed to hospital in a serious condition and he died on Thursday, they said.

Following his death, irate villagers on Thursday laid the body of the victim on Jansath Road and protested, demanding strict action against the accused. A case had been registered against the two accused. One of them has been identified as Zahid. Both the accused are absconding.
