HYDERABAD: Marketing minister Mukesh Goud and Secunderabad Lok Sabha member Anjan Kumar Yadav are indulging in sabre rattling.Anjan Kumar Yadav burst out at the proposal of Mukesh Goud that he (Yadav) should contest for the Assembly from Musheerabad so that Goud could contest for Lok Sabha from Secunderabad.Anjan, who is charting his future as parliamentarian, does not want to move to the Assembly. What has angered him is that Goud should ask him to contest from Musheerabad.“Who is he to tell me to move to Musheerabad. Entire Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency is my jagir because the people have elected me.Musheerabad is part of the constituency and therefore it is also my jagir. If he tries to grab Secunderabad Lok Sabha, I will stop him in midstride,” Yadav said. The sudden vituperative attack is the culmination of the long-standing rivalry between the two leaders. Both of them are trying to get a grip on the city and they are very active in the affairs of the city Congress committee. Moreover, Goud is promoting his son Vikram in the Youth Congress and he wants him to contest from Goshamahal, which is he representing now, after he moves to the Lok Sabha from Secunderabad.Speaking to mediapersons in the lobbies of the Assembly, Goud said he was interested in Secunderabd Lok Sabha seat and that if the party gave him the ticket, winning the seat was not a problem. However, he said he would not raise the issue with Anjan Kumar Yadav and would leave it to the party high command to decide. On the other hand, Anjan Kumar was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2004 and 2009 elections with a handsome majority. He strongly believes that after 2014 elections Congress would form the government at the centre under the leadership of AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi. He believes that if he can retain the seat, he would even be able to land a berth in the central cabinet. He too is promoting his son, Anil Yadav, in politics.
