CHENNAI: The Anandam Old Age Home, near Kallikuppam in Ambattur, on Sunday organised Samashti Sathabhishekam (group performance of 80-plus birthday celebrations) for 22 of its inmates to mark the beginning of 10th year of the home. According to the organisers, the celebration of 80-plus birthday for the senior inmates of the home is more than a dream come true for those who have gone through the vicissitudes of life and are having a happy sojourn here.SAP Varadan, a 104-year-old renowned astrologer and a philanthropist, was among those who participated in the Sathabhishekam proceedings.The ritual to mark the Sathabhishekam was led by Brahmasri Chandramouli Srowthigal.Besides honouring the 80-plus inmates, the organisers also wished about 20-odd visitors, who were 80-plus.Anandam is a registered charitable trust formed in the year 1995. It's objective is to care for elders.
