Army Chief arriving on Monday

 THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief of Army Staff General VK Singh will arrive in the city on a two-day visit on Monday evening. The Army Chief will attend the release of the book ‘North-East Trilogy’ written by Dipti Bhalla and Kunal Verma on Tuesday.The three-volume book was commissioned by the Indian Army with the aim of highlighting the wonders of the north-east states. The books were officially released in New Delhi and also at a few other places.Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will release the ‘North-East Trilogy’ at the Cariappa Auditorium at the Military Station, Pangode, at 9.20 am on Tuesday.During his visit, Singh’s first to Kerala as Army Chief, he will also inspect the operational preparedness of Army troops located in Thiruvananthapuram.The Army Chief will be accompanied by his wife. General Singh will leave Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday itself, a defence spokesperson said.
